Tantra

What is Tantra? Beyond Neo-Tantra

Tantra is not a sex technique and not a weekend workshop. It is an old path in which body, senses and spirit are one, and in which a deep, joyful meeting with life and with each other belongs to the way.

Not Neo-Tantra, and not without the body

Most of what the internet calls Tantra today is Neo-Tantra: a modern Western blend that grew out of the 1970s. The older traditions are wider and quieter. And yet they never asked anyone to leave the body behind. Sensuality isn't the goal, but it isn't the enemy either.

From my practice

[Eileen: your own experience goes here: the moment you understood what Tantra really is for you.]

Where it comes from

Tantric currents run through esoteric Buddhism, including Japanese Shingon, through Daoist inner alchemy and its practices of the union of yin and yang, and, in Eileen's practice, through Egyptian shamanic work. They share one insight: the body is the temple.
